Steven spent 27 years serving the citizens of NY as an EMT. During his career, he received many awards and honors for his bravery and selfless sacrifices. He responded to the WTC after the terrorist attack and spent many months afterward working at the Fresh Kills landfill, where the debris from the WTC was taken. He had a very magnetic personality and loved what he did for a living and the people he worked with. Even after retiring in 2018, Steven would still organize events at his station.
He was a gifted artist who attended numerous art schools to perfect his technique. One of his greatest accomplishments was when the department commissioned him to paint two murals on firehouses. Being an avid outdoorsman, Steven loved fishing, horseback riding, and the beach. He met the love of his life at the age of 12! At that time, it wasn’t meant to be, Life continued for both Steven and Toni Ann, until years later when destiny finally brought them together and they became partners in crime spending the next 18 beautiful, loving years together, until his death from WTC-related cancer. Steven was the stepfather to Danielle, Allana, Anthony, and Tory, and the grandfather to two.
