Mike was a graduate of Virginia Military Academy in 1974.
He was a Fairfax County Police officer starting in 1974, he started in patrol and then moved to the motorcycle unit. During his time as a motorcycle officer he performed his first CPR. This forever changed his life.
After being recognized for his actions, Mike was asked to be part of the first ever paramedic program offered to Fairfax County Police Department and start up their Helicopter Transport Unit. He was only 1 of 6 people.
After Mike retired from Fairfax County in 2001, he volunteered at Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad and then was hired on at Loudoun County Fire and Rescue. He always joked as being the oldest person who went through fire school. Mike was a Captain, Safety Officer, mentor, friend. He retired (again) in 2016.
He moved to Myrtle Beach so he could be in nicer weather to golf as often as he could. His wife did relocate with him! Mike passed away unexpectedly on the golf course, doing what he loved.
