Gloria “Gigi” Gordon was appointed on April 1, 1986, as an EMT in NYC when EMS was part of the Health & Hospital Corporation. After FDNY took over EMS operations she stayed on track and continued her education to become an NYS MAC Certified PARAMEDIC, then later on she was promoted to Lieutenant. Gigi was the type of person who always looked out for the other person.
She spent many months down at ground zero after the terrorist attack on the WTC during the rescue and recovery period. It was her time down there that forced Gigi to retire early and which ultimately caused her death one day before the terrorist attack on the WTC.
She is survived by her wife Sharon and many family members, especially from the FDNY who loved her and still do love her so much.
