Before starting full time in EMS in 1999, Robbie taught auto mechanics at East Central Community College for 15 years. To his friends, he was the “A-1 Shade Tree Mechanic”. He earned this nickname because in his off time, he would fix your car, never taking any money! According to Chris, his son, he truly had a servant’s heart. Robbie got his start in EMS two years out of high school. He got his EMT in 1984, after working a year as a volunteer firefighter. In 1994, he graduated from Alabama Fire College with his paramedic. In his off time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and a little golf. Robbie passed on the EMS bug to his son Chris who has been in EMS for 15 years with the last 10 as a flight medic.
